A brutal crime, one of the most shocking crime stories of recent years, becomes the subject of a play. The story of two young men who torture and kill a peer for no apparent reason becomes an investigation into the boundary between guilt and normality, monstrosity and the everyday. City of the Living depicts a descent into a moral hell that affects not only the protagonists, but an entire society, inviting the viewer to look where they normally look away.

The show is a work of fiction, freely inspired by a novel based on current events, but not intended to be informative or documentary. It does not intend to faithfully represent real events, people, or responsibilities, but rather is an artistic creation that exercises freedom of expression through metaphor, symbol, and transfiguration. Any recognizable references are the result of dramatic development and do not constitute reliable reconstructions or assertions of truth.
