Casa Galimberti Museum - Information
Information
In the heart of the city, on the west side of Piazza Galimberti, stands Palazzo Osasco. On the second floor of number 6, the original writings “Fam. Galimberti” and “Avv. Tancredi Galimberti” indicate the entrance to the private home and professional office of Tancredi Galimberti senior and, later, of Tancredi Galimberti junior (“Duccio”, hero of the Resistance).
The public is offered a journey back in time, into the history of the Galimberti family, spanning the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. A family whose history was intertwined with that of the city and the nation. Walking through the rooms, visitors can admire works of art by famous painters including Lorenzo Delleani, Giacomo Grosso, Matteo Olivero, and sculptors such as Bistolfi and Godet, and experience the atmosphere of when the family lived in those places.
The rich library and family archive are available to scholars .
The Casa Galimberti Museum offers activities and educational tours for schools.
