Biblioincittà
What is Biblioincittà?
Biblioincittà was born from the idea of creating a network of city libraries with the goal of increasing the visibility and accessibility of Cuneo's bibliographic heritage and raising public awareness of the potential of the area's cultural services.
The Civic Library of Cuneo proposed itself as the leader of the project in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, theHistorical Institute of the Resistance, the Diocesan Library, the FG Ghedini Conservatory and the Cuneo University Library.
The Cuneo Civic Library conducted a mapping project of all library services in the area. This work identified more than 20 institutions, belonging to public or private entities, cultural institutions, or educational institutions, as active.
Based on this survey, a selection was made based on the availability of the preserved collection, the target audience, and the services offered. The Biblioincittà project led to the production of 5,000 brochures with brief descriptions of the 16 city libraries open to the public and the printing of 14 indoor totems to be placed in the participating libraries, plus two outdoor totems to be placed at strategic points around the city.
Biblioincittà has laid the foundation for active collaboration between cultural institutions in the same area, recognizing that the future lies in shared planning.
