Culture 0/6: Grow with care
For years, many people in the City of Cuneo have been working to provide services to children aged 0-6 and their families . These services have one idea in common: beauty is good for you and unites you .
The word beauty means many things: a work ofart, a book, music, a play , a film, dance. But beauty is a landscape, a walk in nature , and the opportunity to share all of these things with others.
Experiencing this beauty together creates bonds between the child and their caregiver, giving rise to memories that last and slowly transform into positive habits.
And this is true for the little ones ,but it also enriches their parents, the families and the other professionals who support parents in the growth and education of their children.
Alongside this idea is another belief: that beauty should be for everyone and that it is useful to help people discover what the City has to offer children and those who care for them.
The initiative is based on the “Charter of Children's Rights to Art and Culture,” a document drawn up in 2011 in Bologna by a working group promoted by La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi that involved teachers, educators, school principals and parents, and on the “Manifesto of the Childhood System,” born out of a participatory process launched in Cuneo in 2015 that saw the participation, in addition to the Municipality, of 15 other entities including public and private nurseries and preschools, local authorities, management bodies, ASOs, associations and cooperatives.
