Cuneo Library System - Archives
Archives
The Cuneo Archives System (a hub of the Piedmont Archives System), established following the agreement signed between the Piedmont Region and the Municipality of Cuneo in 2003, has its Network Center in the Historical Archives of the Municipality of Cuneo; the System's primary objective is to support municipalities in the preservation and promotion of their historical archives. Its territory encompasses 53 municipalities, 36 of which are members of the System.
Over the years, the Piedmont Region has contributed, through funding and the involvement of archival professionals, to the conservation, enhancement, and protection of the region's historical archives, in collaboration with the Archival Superintendency for Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. Campaigns have therefore been launched to census, catalog, reorganize, inventory, and computerize the documentation held in municipal historical archives, increasing and improving awareness of the cultural and historical identities rooted in the region.
Below, you can find the factsheets for the registered municipalities, containing the main data relating to their respective historical archives. Among the municipalities participating in the Cuneo System, only Roccasparvera is missing, as its archive was undergoing reorganization at the time the data was collected. For the municipalities of Castelmagno, Monterosso Grana, Pradleves, and Valgrana, scrolling to the bottom of the page also provides the actual inventories, the results of the reorganization efforts carried out in 2014-2015 by Acta Progetti of Turin.
