Guanciale and Saurino stage a "monologue for two actors," in which a single character splits between the child he once was and the man he now is. Both inhabit a room both real and imaginary, a place as real as the ships and vessels of great novels. The words lap like a storm, traversing Moby Dick, Pinocchio , and the great myths of literature. In an ironic, lyrical, and ferocious language, the author constructs a poetic exploration of the meaning of identity and time, of growing up, of dying, and of the impossibility of ceasing to exist.
