On Tuesday, June 23, Cuneo celebrates its birth with a rich program of events under the title CUNEO 828 – Urban Culture, Narration, and Legacy of Origins, a project that combines historical reenactments, music, guided tours, and spectacular events in the heart of the city. Residents and visitors will be guided through the streets and squares of the historic center and will discover Cuneo's origins through accessible and engaging languages, designed for residents and tourists, adults and children alike.

From 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, in Largo Audiffredi, experimental archaeology will take center stage with activities organized by the ARC association of Villar San Costanzo: workshops and activities dedicated to the Middle Ages will offer the public the opportunity to experience history in a hands-on way.

Starting at 7:00 p.m., a historical parade will take place, featuring costumed figures, a horse-drawn carriage, flag-wavers, and musicians from the Sbandieratori e Musici Città di Cherasco group. The La Combricola di Nonna Fiore association will provide costumes for the performers, who will recreate an atmosphere of times gone by in the town center.

At 8:30 or 9:30 pm (you can choose the time) the walk proposed by FAI and the Toselli Theatre Academy will take place: Behind the Doors: Baroque Cuneo, an itinerary to discover the stories, episodes, and secrets kept behind some of the doorways of the streets of the historic center.

At 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, the Cloister of San Francesco will host the performance "Cecilia and Roldano... the Legend." The text, freely adapted from the legend of the birth of Cuneo, will recount the "longing" for freedom that led to the city's founding. The narration will be entrusted to Elisa Dani, accompanied by operatic pieces performed by singers selected from the Enzo Sordello International Opera Competition, accompanied by Maestro Lorenzo Martini on the piano.
The carriage used for the reenactment will be available to children from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM and again from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and from 7:00 PM, Bar Bruno will offer a "medieval" aperitif.
