Behind the Gates: Baroque Cuneo
Cuneo is celebrating its birthday, and for this special occasion, the FAI Delegation has created an extraordinary gift for residents and visitors.
Imagine walking through the beating heart of the historic center, where the "Stura" neighborhood nestles between the elegance of Via Roma and the ancient charm of the riverside bastions. Then imagine that, in the silence of the evening, normally locked doors and private courtyards exceptionally open for you. This will not be a simple guided tour, but a true journey through time lasting approximately an hour and thirty minutes.
Alongside the FAI Storytellers, who will reveal the architectural wonders of Baroque Cuneo, history will come to life before your eyes in a completely unexpected way.
Suddenly, from the most evocative corners of the route, characters from the past will emerge: figures who will catapult you into the daily life, intrigue, and splendor of 18th-century Cuneo, interpreted by the students of the Toselli Academy. You'll hear the voices of those who truly lived those spaces and streets, thanks to scenes of period life that will unexpectedly light up in the darkness of the courtyards, interpreted with intensity and passion. An intimate, engaging, and deeply human experience to rediscover the soul of our city, celebrating its roots on a magical night.
Group departures: 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM, and 9:30 PM.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your group's departure time. Each tour is limited to a maximum of 40 participants.
Meeting point: Via Santa Maria, next to the Monumental Complex of San Francesco (churchyard on the Piazza Virginio side).
But the excitement doesn't end there. This journey of stories and secret glances will find its ideal destination in a highly evocative location: the cloister of the Civic Museum. It is here that the evening's two tours will conclude in a captivating grand finale. Immersed in the nocturnal atmosphere of the cloister, we will attend the musical performance "Cecilia and Roldano, the Legend" by PromoCuneo: set to the immortal arias from Puccini's Tosca, music and song will become a story, epicly and passionately reenacting the very birth of our city (10:00 PM and 11:00 PM).
