"A Mountain of Young People" is the theme chosen for the 2025 edition of the Cuneo Montagna Festival, which will take place in the city from May 9th to 11th. After a year of "Alpine City 2024," which served to build relationships, experiences, and discussions on a variety of topics with other Alpine towns, we are now moving forward to address the challenge of putting young people at the center of the debate, allowing them to create new solutions, gain fresh inspiration, and see our surroundings with fresh eyes.

For this reason, efforts are underway to engage young people in the activities currently being planned for the festival. The events open to the public will be complemented by a program of workshops, seminars, and meetings with local experiences, specifically for young people, to foster the exchange of ideas and perspectives on mountain-related topics.

Professors from the Polytechnic University of Turin, the University of Valle d'Aosta, the Maritime Alps Park, the Gesso and Stura River Park, the FAI, the CAI, the Association of Alpine Cities of the Year, and CIPRA International collaborated to prepare the workshop proposals for young people.

In addition to welcoming young people living in the Cuneo area to the activities, the Municipality of Cuneo will host free of charge, covering the costs of food and accommodation, the first one hundred young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who, from all over Italy and from the entire Alpine region, will join the proposal, registering starting from Monday 10 March at the link that will appear on the website https://www.festivaldellamontagna.it

"Cuneo has chosen to empower young people from our region and beyond, allowing them to meet, discuss, and work together on issues of common interest related to the mountains," explains Sara Tomatis, Councilor for Metromontagna. "Our goal is to provide the opportunity to network knowledge, ideas, proposals, and skills among the young people and the facilitators involved, which we hope will be the beginning of a new journey.".

The detailed program of the event will be announced in April.
