Civic Library • Permanent closure of the branch in Via Cacciatori delle Alpi
The move of the Cuneo Civic Library is now imminent: thelast day of opening of the branch in via Cacciatori delle Alpi will be Saturday 30 May, with extended hours (8.30-12.30 / 14.30-18.30).
Until the last day of opening, it will be possible to borrow and renew books using the usual methods (up to 4 books on each card, for 30 days).
However, starting in June, loans , renewals , interlibrary loan and document delivery services will be suspended , because in order to best manage the processing and movement of all the collections, it is necessary for the books to return as soon as possible, to allow for the arrangement of the locations and the move as scheduled.
In fact, it will take 4 months to move all the materials (around 350,000 volumes, in addition to all the periodicals): the opening of the new headquarters, Esseci, is scheduled for the end of September.
To return books after the closing date, you can still use the 24-hour drop-off box located in front of the library entrance on Via Cacciatori delle Alpi.
Digital lending of ebooks, periodicals, audiobooks, and more will also remain available on MLOL , whose portal has just been revamped and optimized.
Please remember that the Cuneo Library System offers 19 other civic libraries and 9 specialized libraries, in addition to 16 lending spaces: take a look at the list, they can be a valuable resource!
On the last day of opening, we'll be hosting the "Portrait of a Reader", where we invite readers to participate in a photoshoot to forever become part of this library's history. For more information, click here.
The opening hours of the 0-18 Library, reserved for readers aged 0 to 18, remain unchanged and will be open regularly.
