“Cultura 0/6 crescere con cura” deserves the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo
The project “Culture 0/6 growing with care” presented by the Municipality of Cuneo together with Dispariteatro has obtained funding of 45,000 euros from the 2025 “Culture for growth” call for proposals by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation.
Culture 0/6 Growing with Care is an innovative cultural welfare experience for families with children aged 0-6. The initiative recognizes culture, beauty, and participation as central elements of child development and social cohesion and aims to build an educational community capable of supporting growth processes through shared efforts between cultural, educational, social, and healthcare stakeholders.
Launched in 2022 as an experimental project, Cultura 0/6 has gradually consolidated a stable network of local partners that includes public bodies, associations, libraries, cooperatives, and healthcare institutions, including ASL CN1, the Santa Croce e Carle Hospital, the Territorial Pedagogical Coordination, and the Cuneo Social Welfare Consortium (CSAC). The project has gradually expanded to several municipalities within the Cuneo Library System, developing a model that integrates welfare, culture, and community.
The initiative is based on the “Charter of Children's Rights to Art and Culture,” a document drawn up in 2011 in Bologna by a working group promoted by La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi that involved teachers, educators, school principals and parents, and on the “Manifesto of the Childhood System,” born out of a participatory process launched in Cuneo in 2015 that saw the participation, in addition to the Municipality, of 15 other entities including public and private nurseries and preschools, local authorities, management bodies, ASOs, associations and cooperatives.
"We are deeply grateful for this contribution, which allows us to continue a project we believe in deeply. We also believe it recognizes the quality of our work," comments Councilor for Culture Cristina Clerico. "We always say that beauty is good for us and unites us. And it's important to be able to give so many of our city's youngsters the opportunity to experience beauty. Our ambition is to reach more and more families through our networks in this profoundly educational experience.".
