THE GREAT SPELL

It is the company of one of the oldest performing arts families active in the field of puppetry and marionettes since the first half of the 19th century: the Monticelli family. Brothers Mauro and Andrea, the current Artistic Directors along with Roberta Colombo, represent the fifth generation of this uninterrupted tradition. The company operates on two fronts: tradition, with traditional puppet shows and the preservation of materials from the Monticelli Collection; and research, through contemporary puppetry performances that embody a personal artistic approach, original in both the use of materials and animation techniques.
