Surrealism, a century-old avant-garde

It's been 100 years since André Breton published the Surrealist Manifesto in 1924, establishing the superiority of the unconscious over reason, the freedom of automatism over conscious control. Surrealism, both an artistic and political movement, manifested from the beginning the desire to radically change society by reimagining life. The Surrealist movement, led with an iron hand by André Breton, owes much to his complex personality, which shaped its identity. Following in the footsteps of the previous edition, dedicated to Impressionism, we intend to continue the journey begun with the public, who have always passionately followed these encounters of art discovery.

Three speakers will alternate to illustrate some unique aspects of the movement, also in relation to our cultural territory.
