Republic Day 2025 | Concert by the Bartolomeo Bruni Orchestra
The 79th anniversary of Italian Republic Day will be celebrated on Monday, June 2nd.
The day's program includes the institutional ceremony, starting at 10:30 a.m. in Piazza Galimberti, which will open with the traditional honors to the decorated Gonfalons, the honors to the Prefect, and the flag-raising ceremony with the national anthem. Following the reading of the Head of State's message, the Provincial Student Council will continue with specially prepared readings, followed by the eagerly awaited presentation of the honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
The institutional ceremony will conclude with a performance by the “Duccio Galimberti” Music Band of the City of Cuneo.
The June 2nd celebrations will conclude at 9:00 pm at the Toselli Theater with a special event: a free concert open to the public by the Bartolomeo Bruni Orchestra conducted by Maestro Andrea Oddone.
The evening's program includes, after the performance of the National Anthem, four overtures by the famous composer Gioachino Rossini (“Tancredi”, “The Marriage Bill”, “The Italian Woman in Algiers”, “The Barber of Seville”), and the “Symphony No. 4 ” - known as the “Italian” - by Felix Mendelssohn.
"The prestigious Teatro Toselli will host the concert celebrating the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Republic on the evening of June 2nd ," said Prefect Mariano Savastano and Mayor Patrizia Manassero . " This is intended to be an opportunity to celebrate the Republic through the performance of a selection of the most beautiful and well-known pieces from the Italian opera tradition, an expression of one of our great national treasures. The event is free and open to the public, offering all the people of Cuneo a collective moment of celebration and inclusion, through classical music."
