Opening Slab
sclab opens its doors — 18, 19 and 20 September, Cortile Esseci, Cuneo
Three days to inaugurate sclab: a space born as a meeting place for art, words, music, and community. The thread that holds the program together is the "edge," understood not as a limit but as a threshold: the point where things touch and change shape.
It begins on Friday the 18th at 9 pm with Viaggio nelle sfuma del bordo (Journey into the Shades of the Edge), the inaugural show curated by NOAU | Officina Culturale, in which anthropologist Adriano Favole and musician Maurizio Carucci intertwine storytelling and song through four contemporary settings.
Saturday the 19th is a busy day. It starts at 9:30 am with Run Meets Art, a run and walk through the historic streets with artist John Blond and Karhu, with breakfast upon arrival. Then comes the vernissage of @BORDO, ten years of John Blond's work on the Noodles sign; the movable type printing press and exhibitions open all day; and the Community Table, where you can preview sclab dishes. In the afternoon, two shifts of workshops will be held, inspired by the city's socio-cultural traditions: fairy tales, creative writing, collage, weaving, improvisational theater, ikigai, and concerts for children. At 6:30 pm, the Philosophical Aperitif on reading as a shared experience, and from 8 pm, the long evening: DJ sets, VJs, Pixel Smoothies lasers, a live performance of OBLIO by Isacco Basilotta, and a musical procession to San Francesco and back, until midnight:.
Sunday 20th at 11am we close with listening with FONORAMA Matinée: Giorgio Li Calzi talks about and plays Newspeakracy, between trumpet and sound machines, curated by the Origami Cultural Association with the Ghedini Conservatory.
All activities are free; many require registration while spaces last.
