AT AN ANGEL'S FLIGHT

Crazy Bosnian Guy is a tour guide who leads us through the streets of his city, Mostar, in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. He's a talkative, larger-than-life character: he earned his nickname on the battlefield. As the tour progresses, we're drawn into a whirlwind of memories. Crazy Bosnian Guy was in his twenties in the 1990s: the war in the Balkans is vivid in his memory. He talks to us about the wealth of Tito's Yugoslavia, the collapse of the confederation, the rise of unstable governments, and the Yugonostalgic sentiment. And about the current situation, described by the locals themselves as "a powder keg ready to explode." Why should we care about a history seemingly distant from us? Does remembering still have any meaning today?
