The eighth edition of the "Binario Festival" returns to Cuneo (Piazzale Vecchia Stazione) from September 4th to 6th. Food and drinks every evening starting at 7 pm. Live music and shows starting at 10 pm.
The name derives from the characteristic area where it is located, the old Cuneo train station. The eighth edition of the musical festival will feature performances by the Modena City Ramblers on Saturday, September 6th, Alessandro Ciacci on September 4th, and Ruggero de “I timidi” & la band on September 5th, with Kinder Reunion opening.
Alessandro Ciacci , born in 1989 in Rimini, has a refined style of speaking. Alongside his work as a stand-up comedian, he also works as an actor, theater director, playwright, and writer. He has been part of the cast of the TV programs "CCN – Comedy Central News" (2017), "Stand up comedy" (2017, 2019, 2020 editions), both broadcast on Comedy Central (SKY channel 128), and "Italian stand up" (2019) on Zelig TV (now available on Amazon Prime Video). His writing has been included in "Stand up Comedy – The first Italian anthology" by Giulio D'Antona, published by Einaudi Stile Libero, and Style Magazine has included him among "The 20 funniest Italian stand-up comedians."
A clumsy crooner, a nostalgic beat singer, an unlikely cross between Elio e Mal from the Primitives, a surreal mix of the Smiths and Squallor, Christian, Santo California, Dik Dik, Le Orme, and Raffaella Carrà, Ruggero of I Timidi is the illegitimate child of a relationship between a late-'50s orchestra and the great Freak Antoni: in short, a cultured neomelodic singer (at fault), with a penchant for refined dementia (but don't tell him, he'll be offended). Ruggero is a perfect cocktail of modernity and wholesome vintage: he's the nightclub singer we've been missing these past few years.
Modena City Ramblers formed in 1991 as an Irish folk band, passionate about the
music and traditions of the Emerald Isle. After their landmark self-produced demo tape, Combat Folk (MCR, 1993), their first album, "Riportando tutto a casa," was released in 1994 on the independent label XRecords.
It was a rare, small example of immediate underground success, later re-released by Blackout/Mercury. With it, the Ramblers asserted a mixed identity, drawing on Ireland
and Emilia, tales of the Resistance and the 1960s, travel, and struggle. The album remains the band's best-selling discography, with over 200,000 copies sold to date. On the eightieth anniversary of the Liberation, and celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the release of their landmark collective album 'Materiale Resistente' and the twentieth anniversary of their gold record 'Appunti Partigiani', the Modena City Ramblers are embarking on a special tour in 2025 called 'Appunti Resistenti'. The tour will feature songs the band has dedicated over its thirty-year career to the theme of the Resistance and the values of anti-fascism, as well as four new songs that represent a new chapter in their artistic journey inspired by these themes, so closely tied to the Ramblers' identity.
