Cuneo remembers the magistrates who died for justice: two events of remembrance and civic engagement
The presentation of the volume "Portraits of Courage" and a commemorative ceremony at the Parco della Resistenza are scheduled
The Municipality of Cuneo has organized two important initiatives, on September 26 and 27, to remember the 28 magistrates barbarically murdered by crime, the mafia and terrorist groups, between 1960 and 2015.
On Friday, September 26, at 6:00 p.m., in the Hall of Honor of the Town Hall, the book "Portraits of Courage: The Italian State and Its Magistrates" (ed. Nuova Scienza) will be presented. This is the only book published to date in Italy to commemorate all the murdered Italian magistrates and to offer a comprehensive analysis of the institutions' battle against crime. The book, written by a group of magistrates, was edited by Stefano Amore, a magistrate at the Constitutional Court, who will speak at the presentation and discuss the book's contents with Alessandro Ferrero, president of the Cuneo Bar Association.
On Saturday, September 27, at 10:00 a.m., a plaque commemorating the 28 magistrates murdered in the line of duty will be unveiled at the Parco della Resistenza, and a red-leaved beech tree will be planted in their memory. During the ceremony, Alessandra Galli, daughter of Guido Galli, and Stefano Amore will share a tribute to the murdered magistrates with those present.
"We are delighted to host these two high-profile events. We need to remember and acknowledge the work and passion of those who lived and paid their dues to defend justice. The example and dedication of those who, with their commitment, contributed to the life of the country must continue to shine and serve as an example for everyone, especially young people. Keeping their memory alive and defending legality and justice are the way to demonstrate that those who killed them have not won," commented Mayor Patrizia Manassero.
The events were organized by the Culture Department, with the support of the Public Green Office.
