The exhibition comes to Cuneo thanks to a valuable collaboration between the Progetto HAR Association, the Progetto Immagine photography group of Lodi, and Gabriele Chiesa, professor of photography at the University of Brescia. The
exhibition will feature the Contemporary Visiting Cards that participated in the Gianluigi Parpani Prize "The World in Your Pocket – 2024," organized annually in the city of Lodi.

"Photographs, signs and testimonies of presence, events, customs, and social values, survive us and maintain the persistence of irreplaceable historical, social, and artistic documents.
The 'Carte de Visite' is a formal photographic genre that enjoyed immense popularity from the mid-nineteenth century to the early twentieth century. It contributed to the full realization of the democratic revolution in social communication that photography had made possible. The format and function of these photographs correspond to the business card."

“The Parisian photographer André-Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri (Paris, March 28, 1819 – October 4, 1889) patented in 1854 the method for obtaining eight different negatives on a single plate. This determined the format that characterizes the Carte de Visite and made their success possible thanks also to the reduction in production costs. The negative could be contact-printed, and producing copies was therefore particularly convenient.”- Gabriele Chiesa.

The exhibition will take place concurrently with "CorRelazione," part of the InsiAmo "March 8th is All Year" series.
