Christmas in art

The Cultural Meetings at the Grand Bar, at Corso Nizza 43 in Cuneo, conclude this year with a Christmas evening on December 23rd, again at 6 pm.

For this meeting, a conference will be held entitled "Christmas in Art," an evocative journey through Christian iconography, following the traces of pictorial art from the earliest works, through the nativity scene of Saint Francis, to arrive at the most contemporary forms of representation of the Holy Family.

The European pictorial tradition has always explored the Christian message of the Nativity in multiple forms. A theme of great fascination and spirituality. The exhibition begins with the first ancient early Christian mural paintings, which over time transform into the refined Venetian works of Veronese. It then moves on to dramatic moments, such as those of Caravaggio, and reaches our present day, immersing ourselves in the contemporary world with the works of Keith Haring and Banksy.

As always, participation in the meeting is free; participants are invited to enjoy a drink as a token of their appreciation for the hospitality.
