Breathe in the high air in spring
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 6:30 pm, the Open Baladin in Cuneo (Piazza Foro Boario) will host a new event in the "Off" series of the Cuneo Bike Festival, entitled "Breathing the High Roads in Spring." The evening will focus on gravel cycling, with the presentation of "TAP. Tutti a Pinerolo!", a cycling event debuting on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the Pinerolo area. This event will also provide a preview of two gravel rides in Cuneo organized by the ASD Fausto Coppi on the Road: the "Fausto de Tierra" event, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, and the one scheduled for Saturday, September 26, as part of the 6th edition of the Cuneo Bike Festival.
Elena Zappia, organizer of the event along with Andrea Collino and Valeria Bertaccini, will recount the genesis and spirit of "TAP. Tutti a Pinerolo!" In conversation with Francesca Pellegrino of the CCPink collective, Zappia will explain how TAP was born from the desire to offer an adventure that would make participants feel like they're in the high mountains, in that limbo where the major Alpine passes are still closed. The event will allow participants to discover the wild and untouched Pinerolo area, starting from the base camp, located at the "Il Podio" sports center in Porte di Pinerolo, which will be the beating heart of the event with tents, a van area, a covered bivouac, and a food court, open from Friday evening to Sunday. The trails, on terrain requiring gravel, mountain bike, e-gravel, and e-MTB riding, will reach an altitude of 1,600 meters, but will give the sensation of being over 2,000 meters. On Saturday, June 6th, the Rucas-Montoso will offer a first taste of Pinerolo's verticality. On Sunday, June 7th, the main stage will touch the Colle della Vaccera and Colle Lazzarà (1,595 m), both emblematic of the area. Both days feature a long and a short route.
