Merlo. 60 years of history

At Palazzo Samone the exhibition that tells the story of the bond with the territory and global successes

A fascinating multimedia exhibition illustrates the origins, innovation, identity, and future prospects of the 1,700-employee company. The exhibition will be open to the public until January 12th.

An exhibition in the center of Cuneo, where it all began, to celebrate a sixty-year success story. The history of Merlo Spa began in 1964, and construction began on a new 40,000 m² facility in S. Defendente di Cervasca, just outside Cuneo. It was the beginning of an exciting phase of significant design and commercial expansion, which would eventually include the production of telescopic handlers, tracked vehicles, self-loading concrete mixers, and forestry tractors.
Today, Merlo's presence—which comprises multiple specialized divisions and 1,700 employees—is guaranteed worldwide by a direct organization of seven subsidiaries (in the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, and Australia), a distribution network of over 80 importers, and 600 dealers offering comprehensive sales, service, and spare parts coverage. In 2023, more than 8,700 machines were produced – 7,500 telescopic handlers and 700 compactors – of which over 80% were exported.

“The history of Merlo is the story of dozens of people, who have grown to hundreds and now number thousands, who work with passion, sharing this idea,” says Paolo Merlo, president. “So today, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Merlo's founding, the time has come to pause and reflect on the history we have built together, with pride and responsibility.”

From November 14th to January 12th, 2025, this success story will be commemorated in Cuneo, at Palazzo Samone (Via Amedeo Rossi, 4), with the exhibition "Merlo. 60 Years of History," which will guide visitors through the company's milestones from its origins to the present day through images, videos, models, and explanatory panels.
The exhibition, a Merlo project with the patronage of the Municipality of Cuneo, is curated by Art.ur arte cultura innovazione and Studio3Mark. The artistic direction is by Michela Giuggia.
After the opening on November 12th, the exhibition will be open from November 14th to January 12th, 2025, on Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
