What if the shadow was right? A journey inside through the photographs of Antonella Lingua and Bogdana Samoylenko

The exhibition collects visual testimonies from the theater workshop conducted by Elisa Dani from September 2025 to May 2026 and supported by the MenteInPace association, which involved users and staff of the ASL CN1 Day Center, supported by volunteers, in a collaborative effort. This project, which saw users and staff of the ASL CN1 Day Center working side by side with volunteers, culminated in the performance of the show, which was presented to great acclaim at the Sala Polivalente in Boves on May 7th and at the Cineteatro Don Bosco on September 25th as part of the "Spettacolare!" festival.
The richness of this experience is captured in images born from the encounter between two different artistic sensibilities:
Antonella Lingua accompanied the workshop, immortalizing the faces and stage presence of the protagonists with photographs conceived and created as an integral part of the show's aesthetic;
– Bogdana Samoylenko, a 20-year-old Ukrainian photographer who recently arrived in Italy, followed the group during rehearsals and the performance at Don Bosco, capturing fleeting moments, spontaneous gestures, and expressive nuances of extraordinary intensity.
Part of the initiatives for World Mental Health Day, the exhibition aims to promote a profound reflection on the value of mental and physical well-being and the breaking down of prejudice, demonstrating how art and sharing are powerful tools for citizenship and redemption. "The shadow is not a limit, but the place from which our most authentic light emerges," the promoters emphasize. "With this exhibition, we want to offer the city an opportunity to look beyond stigma, meeting people through their faces, their creativity, and their humanity."
The exhibition is presented by MenteInPace in collaboration with Sentieri di Pace, Progetto HAR, ASL CN1, with the support of Banca di Boves and CSV Società Solidale, and the patronage of the Municipality of Cuneo.
