World Press Freedom Day
May 5 – World Press Freedom Day: a day of Conversations to address current issues focusing on journalism, journalists, and publishers.
The Territori Cultural Association celebrates Press Freedom Day by dedicating the entire day of May 5 to this anniversary, established in 1993 by the United Nations.
The initiative is sponsored by the Piedmont Region, the Piedmont Regional Council, the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation, USPI, the Municipality of Cuneo, the Province of Cuneo, the Piedmont Order of Journalists, and the GE Ghedini Conservatory of Music in Cuneo.
The program includes a morning meeting with high schools, featuring speakers from representatives of the Piedmont Order of Journalists, the editorial staff of Il Fatto Quotidiano, teachers from the Cuneo Conservatory, and communications experts. The awards ceremony for the school competition "Music and Poetry for Press Freedom" will also be held.
In the evening, a talk show on press freedom, "Music and Poetry for Press Freedom," will feature speakers from the editorial staff of Il Fatto Quotidiano, President Mattia Sismonda of the GF Ghedini Conservatory of Music, and Barbara Pasqua, Director of the More News Group. The evening event is open to the public and also valid for journalists' credit.
