Vocalibu
African Polyphonic Singing Workshop "Vocalibù" with Njamy Sitson
The "Vocalibù" workshop, led by Cameroonian musician Njamy Sitson, is a learning program in African vocal polyphony and polyrhythm open to children and adults. Through songs from various African traditions, participants are guided in exploring their own voices in a choral and rhythmic context. The method is based on oral tradition and intensive learning, typical of the way this music is transmitted.
"Vocalibù" is an immersive and engaging experience that allows you to:
Experience polyphony as a dialogue between voices.
Understand the structure of African polyrhythms.
Develop listening, intonation, and vocal improvisation skills.
Participate in an energetic and multicultural group activity.
No prior musical experience is required, making it accessible to anyone who wants to explore the vibrant world of African choral singing.
The event is part of MULTICO – Multicolor Festival 2025, a cultural festival organized thanks to the valuable contributions of the CRC Foundation, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, and Banca di Caraglio, with the support of CSV Società Solidale. The initiative also enjoys the patronage of the Municipalities of Cuneo and Borgo San Dalmazzo and involves numerous local and international partners.
