Elio Germano and Teho Teardo stage The Dream of a Thing in a version made of words and music.

Three young men from Friuli, on the verge of their twenties, live their brief youth and confront the world: the poverty of their rural origins, emigration, political struggles, and finally their integration into the bourgeois society of the economic boom. They long for happiness, the good life in a foreign country, develop a political conscience, and dream of revolution, only to then submit to the compromises of adulthood. To the point of dying of work. Pasolini speaks through the voices of those who, exhausted by poverty, fled post-World War II Italy, crossing the border illegally to reach Yugoslavia, drawn by communism and hoping to find decent work and food for all. It begins with the exhilaration of a celebration, and ends with the sadness of death.
