"The Boys Who Flew Kites" – a book presentation by Franco Brunetta

On Thursday 3 April, at 5:30 pm, in the rooms of the Casa Galimberti Museum in Cuneo (Piazza Galimberti, 6), Franco Brunetta 's book , “I ragazzi che volarono l'aquilone” will be presented

The book recounts the thrilling adventure experienced between 1943 and 1945 by a group of men and women who, with their difficult and painful choices, helped shape the history of 20th-century Italy. The fruit of meticulous research, conducted in a context largely unexplored by official resistance historiography, it documents the attempts to export the partisan experience of the "Italia Libera" band of Duccio Galimberti, Livio Bianco, and Leo Scamuzzi from the valleys of Cuneo to the Turin area. The lives of these "boys" convey the moral dimension of the era and contribute to constructing an uncommon page of true history, which at times reads like a novel: a sort of epistolary novel made fresh and lively by the author's choice to narrate it as a "hot" account of a journey into the past.
