Talk About Music – “Songs for Others. The Songwriter's Craft”

The first Talk About Music, scheduled for Friday, April 4, at 6 p.m., at theAuditorium Foro Boario in Cuneo [via Pascal 5L], titled “Songs for Others. The Author's Profession,” is a talk with singer-songwriter, composer, and lyricist Federica Abbate, who will take the audience inside the creative process and methodologies of a successful song writer. Born into a family of musicians (she is the granddaughter of Gaspare Gabriele Abbate, author of hits such as “Mambo italiano” and “È l'uomo per me”), Abbate has been playing the piano since she was a child, growing up singing and writing songs, and in 2013 she won the “Genova per Voi” competition, landing a contract as a songwriter with Universal Music Publishing. Since then, she has become one of the most prolific songwriters on the current Italian scene, often collaborating with Alfredo “Cheope” Rapetti, son of the legendary Mogol. He has written for Fedez, Baby K, Fiorella Mannoia, Alessandra Amoroso, Eros Ramazzotti, Emis Killa, Michele Bravi, and many others. For Francesca Michielin, he wrote "Nessun grado di separazione," which came in second at the 2016 Sanremo Festival. At Sanremo 2025, he co-wrote songs by Rose Villain, Joan Thiele, Serena Brancale, Fedez, Sarah Toscano, and Clara.
