Talk About Music – “Professional Authors”

On Thursday, May 22, at 5 pm, in the Giovanni Mosca room of the GF Ghedini Conservatory [via Roma 19], a trio of exceptional guests, moderated by Claudio Carboni, will discuss the mechanisms and secrets of both the work of an author and that of a talent scout. The masterclass “Professional Authors” will feature Gian Piero Alloisio, Claudio Buja , and Franco Zanetti.

Gian Piero Alloisio is an author, playwright, and singer who has been active with the Assemblea Musicale Teatrale since 1975. He has written for Francesco Guccini, worked on several musicals with Giorgio Gaber, and is president and artistic director of the Associazione Teatro del Disagio (ATID), founded in 1998. He is the creator of the national competition for authors "Genova per Voi" together with Claudio Buja, who has had various professional experiences in the music field, starting as a journalist before finding a position in the recording industry and then, finally, in music publishing. He worked at CBS Dischi (now Sony Music) as artistic director, and at MCA (now Universal) as marketing director and later artistic director. In 2001, he became Managing Director of Universal Music Publishing, and in 2007, he was appointed president of Universal Ricordi Music Publishing and Casa Ricordi. Franco Zanettiis the editor-in-chief of Rockol.it and Italy's leading Beatles expert. After twenty years of following young emerging artists, including as a committee member at SanremoLab/Area Sanremo and in the RADAR project with Massimo Cotto, he chose to dedicate himself to the discovery and training of aspiring songwriters together with Gian Piero Alloisio, with whom he created Genova per Voi and has been its organizational director since 2013.
