Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano 2022 Award to Lino Musella Best Leading Actor
"During this time, I have found myself taking refuge in the words of the greats—poets, writers, philosophers—for comfort, inspiration, or even to find answers to the present. Thus, I developed a desire to rediscover Eduardo as a theater director, and little by little, a portrait of the artist emerged, one tied not only to the beauty of his works, but also to his tirelessly waged Don Quixotic battles, between victories and failures."
Lino Musella
Tommaso De Filippo—committed to preserving the family's cultural legacy—supported Lino Musella in his research into Eduardo's memoirs, eager to strongly encourage intergenerational dialogue on stage. The actor thus gives voice and substance to the words of the letters addressed to institutions, the speech to the Senate, the notes, and the correspondence relating to the grueling undertaking of building and maintaining the Teatro San Ferdinando.
