Symphonic concert for Republic Day
June 2nd marks the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic. The city of Cuneo is preparing to celebrate this special occasion with a packed calendar of events.
The celebrations, organized by the Prefecture in collaboration with the Municipality, will open in Piazza della Costituzione with the traditional honors to the decorated Gonfalons, the honors to the Prefect, and the flag-raising ceremony with the national anthem. Following the reading of the Head of State's message, the eagerly awaited moment of awarding the honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic to several citizens of the Granda district will follow.
The festivities will culminate at 9:00 PM in the prestigious setting of the Toselli Theater with a free symphonic concert open to the public. The Bartolomeo Bruni Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Andrea Oddone, will open with the Italian National Anthem, followed by Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, known as the "Pastoral," the symphonic centerpiece of the evening. This will be followed by several famous overtures from the Italian operatic repertoire: the overture to Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata, and the lively and sparkling passages from "William Tell" and "Il signor Bruschino" by Gioachino Rossini. These pieces, with their compelling energy, perfectly represent the ingenuity and vitality of the Italian musical tradition.
Admission is free, but reservations are required (via the following link: https://ticket01.comune.cuneo.it/home.aspx). The theater's box office will be open from 7:00 PM on June 2nd, subject to availability.
