STÜK. THE OTHER RESISTANCE
Theatrical performance (two performances: morning for school groups and evening for the general public; reservations recommended). Loosely based on the diary "The Cross Between the Barbed Wire" by Don Giuseppe Barbero, military chaplain of Centallo and interned in labor camps in Germany during World War II. On September 8, 1943, thousands of Italian soldiers were captured by their former German allies and deported to labor camps in Germany. They were the IMI, Italian Military Internees, soldiers without rights and with only one duty: to work. Don Giuseppe Barbero managed to write a diary about this sad imprisonment.
The initiative is part of the “Resistances 2026 – Republic and Constitution” calendar.
Organized by: Historical Institute of the Resistance, Contemporary Society in the Province of Cuneo “DLBianco” and the Nuto Revelli Foundation, in collaboration with the Centallo Viva Association.
