Book presentation "Raimondo Usmiani, Servant of Freedom"

The history of liberation is not limited to major events or prominent figures, but there are still missing pieces in that larger, less exposed puzzle that is microhistory, made up of the actions of humble men who choose to be on the "side of the best Italy.".
Like many police officers, Raimondo Usmiani threw away his uniform, transforming himself from a "servant of the State" to a "servant of Freedom" or, as he called himself, "a conspirator," because he belonged to the SAP out of free and mature civic conscience. A sergeant of the Royal Corps of Police Guards, a soldier who became civicly aware of the atrocities committed by the fascist regime and the reckless Axis pact that led to the immense disaster of World War II. This is the micro-history of the rebellion of an "oblivious" man, a supporting actor in a tragedy that puts his own safety, that of his wife, and his job, his only means of support, at risk.
This contribution is necessary to restore memory, not with a monument or a ceremony but with the memory that is the living conscience of a community like Italy, which has written a great page in contemporary history.
