The show, whose title is based on the words of poet Mahmoud Darwish, sings of the right to live free and in peace.
"Amwaj," which means "Waves" in Arabic, is an educational program launched in 2015 in the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron. It currently involves 70 boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 20, from the Bethlehem area (city, refugee camps, and rural areas) and Hebron (the old and new city). Since October 2019, the Amwaj educational team has also been working weekly with a group of 30 children and young people from the SOS Children's Village in Bethlehem.
Led by French and Palestinian educators, the project offers children and young people the opportunity to access high-quality musical training through an intensive program based on choral singing.
Thanks to Amwaj's inclusive social vision (based on gender equality and independence from any social, religious, or political context) and its focus on cultural exchange and intercultural dialogue, the choir members have access to a vast musical repertoire and numerous artistic collaborations. Constant exchange and dialogue with other artists and educators, both Palestinian and international, is a fundamental element for the growth and success of Amwaj's young singers.
The choir performs a vast repertoire, ranging from medieval music to contemporary premieres, including world music and traditional Arabic songs. It has commissioned and premiered, in France and Palestine, compositions by Naji Hakim, Patrick Lama, Dina Shilleh, Moneim Adwan, Camille Van Lunen, Roxanna Panufnik, and Yves Balmer.
During the evening, funds will be raised for the "Soutien Amwaj" association, which supports the activities of the choir and the music school.

The event is free entry until seats are filled
