The European project is at risk of collapse: nationalist rhetoric and anti-establishment parties are gaining traction across Europe, eroding the principles of solidarity and transnational democracy that underpin the Union.

Climate change, epochal migrations, wars, the crisis of our economic model, cultural contradictions, and social demands are the explosive mix that can shatter our destinies. Yet Europe is not an "accident of history," but an extraordinary political project, born from the ashes of two world wars, aimed at sharing values, resources, and institutions for common progress. And in the past four years, Europe has provided extraordinary responses to the most serious crises in its history.

Luca Jahier reviews the last sixty-seven years of the Twelve Star Movement project, with the expertise and passion of a "European activist" who proposes an agenda of hope for Europe in 2030: programmatic priorities that, from the Green Pact to asylum policies, from strategic sovereignty to defense, from cohesion to institutional and budget reform, chart the course of a possible challenge.

Luca Jahieris a journalist, political scientist, and economist, specializing in the third sector, international cooperation, Africa, the SDGs, and European policies. He is a former President of FOCSIV, a founder of Retinopera, and a former President of the ACLI National Council. He has been a member of the EESC, an institution of the European Union, since 2002, and served as its President from 2018 to 2020. His current responsibilities include civil dialogue, cultural diplomacy, the Balkans, the Mediterranean, monitoring of the National Recovery and Resilience Plans (NRRPs), and the European Semester.
