Legs Freide. Three Characters Seeking Justice
The Fiordaliso Social Cooperative is pleased to invite you to the presentation of the book " Gambe frèide. Tre personaggi in cerca di giustizia" (Fresh Legs. Three Characters in Search of Justice) by Barbara Di Dodo.
The event was initiated by the 150 ore donne e narrativa, in memory of the writer, to support our cooperative's shelter projects for women and minors who are victims of violence, with a portion of the proceeds from book sales.
A photographic look at three people, from different social backgrounds and ages. A meticulous portrait that emerges little by little, through details and lively, at times profound and ironic, dialogues. Behind their daily lives, made up of small details, lie the torments, fragilities, and emotions of the characters, captured at a crucial and delicate moment in their lives. In the backdrop, a post-industrial Turin, where low-paid, precarious, and irregular work continues to sow death. But it is death itself that will shake up Matilde's insignificant life, allay Nicola's fears, and turn Luciana's world upside down. Three lives will collide in an epilogue where the triumph will not be the banal promise of a happy future, but a desperate need for justice.
The presentation will be moderated by Simone Tedesco of the Fiordaliso Cooperative and will feature a mix of poems, speeches, images, songs, and excerpts from the book to guide the audience through the topic of workplace safety in all its facets.
