Development at the End of the Line: The Crises Italy Must Resolve to Avoid Falling

On Wednesday 4 June at 6 pm, in the CDT Hall in Largo Barale 1 in Cuneo, a meeting will be held on the topic of Development at the end of the line: the crises that Italy must resolve to avoid falling.

The initiative, organized by the Historical Institute of the Resistance and Contemporary Society of Cuneo, will be attended by Pier Giorgio Ardeni, professor of Political Economy and Development at the Alma Mater University of Bologna, and Piertomaso Bergesio, provincial secretary of the CGIL Cuneo.

In their presentations, the speakers will reflect on the great ills threatening to overwhelm our country, from the demographic crisis to the crisis of the productive system and employment, also with reference to what is at stake in the referendums of June 8th and 9th. They will also reflect on the imbalances between North and South, between men and women, between young people and adults, dictated by irresponsible social policies. They will also discuss the effects of the ecological crisis, with floods, droughts, and hydrogeological instability, which call on us to overcome a "productivist" development model based on the waste of nature.
