Cuneo Archeofilm
From Thursday, October 2nd to Saturday, October 4th, 2025, the "Cuneo Archeofilm" International Film Festival of Archaeology, Art, and Environment, now in its third edition, will be held in Cuneo at the Complesso Monumentale di San Francesco (Via Santa Maria, 10). The three-day festival showcases the best of world cinema related to archaeology, with screenings of two films selected for each evening at 6:30 pm. These screenings, a new feature for 2025, will be interspersed with a convivial moment and refreshments in the cloister of the Complesso Monumentale. Admission is free, subject to availability. Following the success of the 2024 edition, which attracted over 360 students, Friday morning will once again be dedicated to middle and high schools, with free admission (reservations required) to screenings specifically designed to introduce younger students to the world of archaeological cinema. During the final evening of the Festival, the audience will award the "Cuneo Archeofilm Prize," and the "Cuneo Archeofilm – Schools Prize" will also be awarded to the short film with the most votes from students. The International Film Festival of Archaeology, Art, and Environment is organized by the Civic Museum of the Municipality of Cuneo, in collaboration with Firenze Archeofilm, Archeologia Viva (Giunti Editore), and the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for the provinces of Alessandria, Asti, and Cuneo, and with the support of the CRC Foundation. "At school with... 'Cuneo Archeofilm'!" is a free event, with reservations required, that "Cuneo Archeofilm" is offering to local middle and high schools. The event will take place on Friday, October 4th at the Complesso Monumentale di San Francesco, at two times chosen by individual schools: from 10:00 am to 11:10 am, or from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The short documentaries presented will focus on archaeology, the environment, and history, specifically created by international directors for children aged 12 to 19. At the end of the screenings, students will be able to vote for their favorite documentary, and the results of their votes will determine the best short film of the series, which will be awarded on Saturday, October 4th, the closing evening of the Festival.
