Birth Celebration 4th edition
On Sunday, June 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Piazza Virginio and the San Francesco Monumental Complex will host the fourth annual "Birthday Celebration: A Day to Grow Together," a day of meetings, workshops, and participatory activities developed as part of the "Culture 0/6: Growing with Care" project promoted by the Municipality of Cuneo and supported by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and the CRC Foundation.
The theme of the 2026 edition will be "Slowly Together," an invitation to rediscover the value of time shared between parents and children through cultural, educational, social, and wellness experiences dedicated to early childhood. The day will focus on the relationship between parents and children: play, care, listening, creativity, and mutual discovery will become tools for creating authentic moments of closeness.
The event, designed for families with children aged 0 to 6, for parents and future parents, will involve over thirty local organizations and will be divided into four thematic "archipelagos" — Culture, Education, Community and Health — with shared activities, workshops and participatory installations designed to foster adult-child relationships.
TheArcipelago Cultura, which brings together the 0-18 Library, Dispari Teatro, Civic Museums, the Diocesan Museum, Noau Officina Culturale, the City of Cuneo Choral Society, and the River Park, will offer "Fishing for History," a large-scale collective narrative relay. Throughout the day, families will be invited to contribute to the construction of a shared narrative by fishing for key words and adding new phrases to the story, in an experience that combines imagination, listening, and participation.
TheArcipelago Salute, promoted by ASL CN1, AO Santa Croce e Carle, Oasi Ostetriche, LILT, and Studio Albero Blu, will have a shared activity called "Il Contatto," an experiential journey dedicated to the act of care and bodily connection. Through games, simulations, and materials dedicated to newborn care, parents and children will be able to experience care and well-being practices together.
TheCommunity Archipelago, composed of social cooperatives, associations, and local services, will present "Building Bonds," a large collective installation made of paper, fabric, wool, and various materials. Each family will contribute to the creation of a shared work, transforming small individual gestures into a shared network of relationships.
TheEducation Archipelago, which involves preschools, nurseries, and public and private educational services, will be dedicated to "Traces and Relationships," an experience centered on shared time between adults and children through unstructured materials, free-form drawing, mandalas, sensory explorations, and creative workshops. The goal will be to enhance the "here and now," prioritizing relationships over the production of objects.
Alongside the archipelago activities, the day will feature readings, theater and music workshops, intercultural activities, parenting sessions, and opportunities to explore health and well-being in early childhood.
Special attention will also be paid to accessibility and embracing vulnerable groups. Within the Monumental Complex of San Francesco, a "Spazio Quiete" (Quiet Space), curated by the MoMo Cooperative, and a "Spazio Snoezelen" (Snoezelen Space), curated by Chiocciole Sonore, will be set up, designed as areas of decompression and sensory well-being for children and families.
Closing the day, at 5:30 pm, will be "Steli" by Stalker Teatro, a large-scale participatory urban performance involving children, parents, and the public in the collective construction of a scenography made of hundreds of colored rods. Between an artistic installation, a game, and a community ritual, the final act will transform the public space into a shared, walkable work of art, symbolizing the bonds forged during the celebration.
The Birth Celebration thus confirms itself not only as a civic event, but as the result of a stable process of co-planning between public and private entities, cultural operators, educational services, and local social and healthcare organizations. This shared effort continues to strengthen the network dedicated to children and families in the city of Cuneo.
