Eloquence Award 2025 – XXI Edition
The city final of the Eloquence Award will take place on Wednesday, May 7th, beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the Hall of Honor of Cuneo Town Hall (Via Roma, 28). This competition, sponsored by the Cuneo Lions Club, requires candidates to present their assigned topic in an expressive and effective oratorical manner, supported by relevant content and supported by examples and reflections. The topic varies from year to year and typically draws on aphorisms, thoughts, or statements by illustrious figures, centered on values of recognized pedagogical, ethical, and social standing.
We have reached the twenty-first edition which offers the competitors the following phrase taken from the end of year message (1978) to the Italians by President Sandro Pertini: “Young people do not need sermons, young people need examples of honesty, coherence and altruism”.
Ten students from three local schools will compete: Pellico-Peano High School, De Amicis High School, and Bonelli Technical Institute. The finalists are candidates selected based on their scores in the selection process held in the first ten days of April. The jury will consist of seven members: a representative from the Municipality of Cuneo, a representative from the Province, and five Lions members.
The top-placed teams will participate in the district final scheduled for mid-May.
