UBU RE – Students of the Officina Santachiara theatre workshops.

Loosely inspired by the great tragedies of power, Ubu the King recounts the rise and fall of Father Ubu, a grotesque, petty, and irresistibly ridiculous character. Driven by Mother Ubu's unbridled ambition, he decides to seize the throne of Poland in a bloody coup. Once in power, he governs with arrogance, greed, and absurdity, transforming the kingdom into a place dominated by chaos and injustice. Through plots, daring escapes, and paradoxical situations, Alfred Jarry constructs a ferocious satire of power and its excesses, creating one of the most irreverent and revolutionary works of modern theater.
