"The Youth Factor," the audience engagement and audience development project aimed at Cuneo's high schools, returns with a new edition packed with guests and events hosted by Margherita Devalle. The second event is scheduled for Friday, May 8th, at 6:00 PM, at the Foro Boario Auditorium in Cuneo, featuring author and composer Alessandro La Cava. All Talk About Music events are free, but reservations are required.
This edition's new development collaboration is with The Goodness Factory, a cultural and social institution with national and international collaborations.
Last year's partnership with "Genova per Voi," the non-televised talent show for young songwriters, continues. It is the first national competition of its kind, offering finalists a training facility and the winner a concrete career opportunity in the form of a publishing contract.
On Friday, May 8th, Alessandro La Cava will be the guest speaker of the talk "Non sono solo canzoni." A multi-platinum songwriter and composer born in 2000, after studying at the conservatory and graduating from Mogol's CET, he established himself as one of the most sought-after songwriters on the new Italian pop scene. A finalist in the 2018 Genova per Voi competition, he joined Universal Music Publishing, with whom he has collaborated steadily for over five years, penning songs for artists such as Angelina Mango, Sangiovanni, Fedez, Laura Pausini, Giorgia, Elodie, Sfera Ebbasta, Rkomi, Annalisa, and Marco Mengoni, racking up over 38 platinum and six gold records.
His best-known hits include Sangiovanni's "Malibù"—one of the best-selling and most-streamed songs of 2021 with over 157 million streams—and numerous songs presented at the Sanremo Music Festival. In 2023, he was also chosen by Spotify as the global face of its Radar Songwriter campaign, featuring a billboard in Times Square. Among his most recent songs are “Per sempre sì” by Sal Da Vinci, winner of the 2026 Sanremo Music Festival, and “Male necessario” by Fedez and Marco Masini, which came in 5th place at the festival and won the Sergio Bardotti Award for best lyrics, confirming La Cava's central role in contemporary Italian pop songwriting.
