THE GEESE

folk tale combining dance, storytelling, and puppetry.
A poetic and engaging show designed for boys and girls aged 3 to 7, drawing on the power of oral tradition to tell a timeless story of maternal love, protection, and courage.
The Little Goose is a folk tale chosen for its immediacy of action and rich language. The story comes to life through storytelling, dance, puppetry, and cloth masks, creating a tale that speaks directly and reassuringly to young children.
A little goose leaves her flock to lay her eggs in the woods. A fox, first through strength and then through cunning, repeatedly attempts to eat them. Her clumsy and repeated attempts are thwarted by the mother goose, who knows how to protect her young and, in the end, manages to overcome her fear and prevail.
The fairy tale's profound meaning is rooted in an archaic and universal imagery: the archetype of the Great Mother, who protects the home and her offspring, recognizes dangers, and imparts knowledge and wisdom. An experience instantly recognizable even in the everyday life of every child.
The setting is simple and evocative, designed to suggest the story's settings without limiting its imaginative possibilities. The simple, repetitive rhythm, typical of oral tradition, makes the show engaging and reassuring even in moments of heightened tension, taking the audience on a delicate and profound emotional journey.
