THE FIVE AND MORE SENSES OF A JOURNEY: A MULTISENSORY EXPERIENCE WITH ALESSANDRO BELTRAME

How many senses come into play on a journey? Five, certainly. And perhaps many more. Alessandro Beltrame knows this well: from documentaries for National Geographic, Mediaset, and Rai, to various international productions, his focus has always been on portraying, as authentically as possible, the outdoor environment and the human beings confronting its beauty and its challenges, amidst the desire to discover, doubts, and fears. There are no heroes, no supermen in his stories, only people. There is no perfection, because reality doesn't have to be perfect, but, precisely, real. His journeys are many, too many to fit on a sheet of paper or in a chat, so the idea is to bring you into what you feel, on your skin and in your mind, when you leave home and begin your journey: the sounds, the colors, even the scents, but also the physical sensations—cold, hot, soft, rough. Because it's not always possible to explore distant lands, but the basic principle of travel, after all, we all know: feeling, listening, experiencing. In front of a screen, Beltrame will try to engage all your senses. That's how it starts.
