READING FORWARD. Dialogues on the Library, a project conceived and organized by the Municipality of Cuneo and the Artea Foundation, aims to lead up to the creation of Cuneo's new library center, which will be located in the historic Palazzo Santa Croce in 2026.

On Wednesday 16 April, at 6 pm , Davide De Luca, director of the Artea Foundation, Cristina Clerico , Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Cuneo, Stefania Chiavero, director of the Civic Library of Cuneo and Oliviero Ponte di Pino , author, teacher and cultural planner will talk with Reinert Mithassel , head of the “Biblo Tøyen” section of the “Deichman” Library in Oslo (Norway), which in 2021 won the prestigious IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) award as the best public library in the world.

The event will offer an in-depth look at the Deichman Library, Oslo's oldest and largest library, founded in 1785. It currently has a network of 25 public libraries across the city. Their mission is to provide access to culture, education, and information for all citizens, offering a wide range of books, digital resources, and cultural programs.

Since 2020, the headquarters has been a modern and dynamic building in the Bjørvika neighborhood, from which it takes its name, Deichman Bjørvika, which houses a cinema, multimedia laboratories, play areas, large spaces for reading and relaxing, and a restaurant.

The meeting is aimed at facilitating discussion between citizens and industry experts.

Admission is free until seats are filled. Reservations are required, which can be made by writing to info@fondazioneartea.org
