Quba Libre Quartet – Rei e Pastres, an Occitan Vigil

Scrittorincittà ended a month ago, but this year's end is bringing us a musical finale. On Tuesday, December 16th , at 9:00 , the Quba Libre Quartet will perform their tunes from their album "Rei e Pastres, una veglia occitana" (Rei e Pastres, an Occitan vigil) in the Sala San Giovanni (Via Roma 4).

This is QuBa Libre's second album, released in November 2023. The album is dedicated to nouvé, traditional Occitan Christmas carols: the idea is to recreate the atmosphere of a vigil, one of those winter gatherings that, until a few decades ago, in mountain villages and on lowland farms, were usually held in the stable (the warmest room in the house, thanks to the animals' breath). After dinner, the whole family would move in, often joined by a neighbor or a young man courting the girls of the house.
