National Chestnut Fair
Cuneo is preparing to host a new edition of the National Chestnut Fair, scheduled from Friday, October 17th to Sunday, October 19th, 2025, with a packed calendar of events, appointments, and exhibition spaces dedicated to one of the most authentic and precious symbols of the Cuneo mountain area: the chestnut.
The 26th edition focuses on the "Jewel of Autumn," paying homage to the chestnut, which is a natural treasure for our region, a gastronomic gem, and a valuable part of the culture and landscape of the Cuneo valleys.
Cuneo will therefore live around this precious treasure for three days during which, as per tradition, the main streets of the historic center—Piazza Galimberti, Via Roma, and Piazza Virginio—will come alive with 260 stands, exhibitors, producers, and entertainment, transforming the city into a large open-air stage dedicated to agricultural and food excellence.
This year too, the Fresia Gardens will host educational farms, with workshops and entertainment for families, and in Piazza Europa, like every year, there will be the Pro Loco village and chestnut roasters.
The 2025 edition will also see the inclusion of a space dedicated to agricultural mechanization and the wood supply chain in the fair's itinerary , with the presence of companies and businesses from the local area and valleys, thus strengthening the link between chestnuts, the mountains and their economic and environmental heritage.
The common thread running through the event will be moments dedicated to taste: throughout the weekend, the Sala San Giovanni will host the "chestnut workshops - food and territory," culinary events where the chestnut will be the protagonist, paired with other local delicacies.
Completing the exhibition and culinary dimension, there will be three scientific conferences, one for each day, which will make the National Chestnut Fair a point of reference and discussion between industry professionals, scholars and institutions, around the economic, environmental and cultural value of this resource.
The program will kick off on Friday, October 17th at 11:00 am, with the official inauguration in Sala San Giovanni: an event that will re-propose the encounter between the chestnut and another great protagonist of Cuneo's tables, the truffle, in a marriage that unites tradition and innovation.
