At the Monviso Cinema, on the occasion of International Mountain Day, the documentary "Signor Calandra"
On Thursday, December 11th at 9:00 PM, on the occasion of International Mountain Day, the documentary “Signor Calandra” by director Andrea Icardi will be screened at the Monviso Cinema. The film, produced by the Mamo Educational Foundation Ets, recounts the extraordinary life of Davide Calandra (1799–1865), a central figure in the history of Acceglio and the Maira Valley. Calandra dedicated his life and fortune to education, culture, and the well-being of the community, embodying the values of solidarity and civic engagement. Director Andrea Icardi and lead actor Paolo Tibaldi will be present at the screening . A discussion on the topic of “Philanthropy in the High Lands: Yesterday and Today” will follow, featuring anthropologist Gabriele Orlandi (University of the Aosta Valley), the mayor of Acceglio, Giovanni Enrico Caranzano , and Sara Tomatis , Councilor for Mountain Areas for the Municipality of Cuneo.
