Mirror of the Middle Ages: Thomas III of Saluzzo and the Miniatures of a Noble Game
A unique opportunity to delve into one of the literary and artistic masterpieces of medieval Piedmont: the presentation of the volume "The Noble Game of the Errant Knight. The Miniatures of the Book of Thomas III of Saluzzo" by Marco Piccat, published by Araba Fenice.
The work reveals the allure of the "Livre du Chevalier Errant," the allegorical autobiography of Thomas III, Marquis of Saluzzo (1356-1416), and in particular the rich iconography of its miniatures. This volume is not only a tribute to a seminal text of courtly literature, but also a bridge between the history of Piedmont and the great culture of Europe.
The presentation will feature distinguished guests: Marco Piccat, the author, lecturer, and editor of the edition; Cristina Clerico, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Cuneo, who will offer an institutional welcome and highlight the importance of the initiative for the city; Stefania Chiavero, Director of the Cuneo Civic Library, will discuss the work's value within the context of local and national book heritage. The meeting will be moderated by Roberto Audisio, Head of the FAI Cuneo Delegation.
