KNOW THE FLAVORS: baked goods: 6 meetings to discover and taste together the local excellences, good and healthy
The FAI Cuneo Delegation, in collaboration with the Interdepartmental Center for Food Research and Anti-Fraud (CIBAN), as part of the Public Engagement project "The Cultures of Food (CUBO)", is organizing a series of six meetings at the Cuneo headquarters of the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences (DiSAFA) of the University of Turin. This will be
a true sensory and scientific journey through the excellence of the Cuneo region, led by scientists, nutritionists, tasters, and producers, to rediscover the authentic flavors of our land and enjoy a new awareness of the food experience.
"Among the FAI's missions is promoting a comprehensive culture of nature, from the valorization of the land, botany, and history, to biodiversity and soil conservation," says Roberto Audisio, Head of the FAI Cuneo Delegation. "This is an action the Foundation promotes within its own properties through sustainable resource management, with a view to a circular economy, and we would like to develop it by raising awareness among our followers about more conscious consumption of the products we bring to the table."
On Thursday, April 17, the second meeting will be dedicated to baked goods. A journey to discover how the grains grown in the fields of our province are transformed into precious flours, giving rise to fragrant bread, traditional sweets, and other delicacies.
The event will be divided into three parts:
- Analysis of the raw materials: with the help of expert teachers, we will explore the origins of flours, the different varieties, and the processing of grains;
- Discovery of properties: together with nutrition experts, we will delve into the world of flours and their health benefits;
– The art of tasting: guided by master bakers and pastry chefs, you will sharpen your senses to fully appreciate the aromatic and flavorful nuances of baked goods.
An unmissable opportunity to celebrate the authentic flavors of the region and support the agricultural supply chains that preserve the biodiversity and authenticity of our products.
